JOHANNESBURG - Police are bolstering festive season safety operations with more boots on the ground.
Over 2,700 newly-trained constables will be deployed.
Today, passing out parades are taking place in Gauteng, KZN, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.
The men and women in blue, who have been training since April, will be deployed to various police stations.
Police Minister Senzo Mchunu will officiate at the largest parade in Pretoria.
His deputies will attend parades in KZN and the Western Cape.
