SOWETO - A Soweto family is blaming police for their daughter's death.
The 29-year-old was killed, allegedly by her boyfriend just days after trying to open a case.
Phumzile Lekoane went to the Meadowlands police station last Sunday but was turned away.
Officers instead gave a verbal warning to her boyfriend.
She was found strangled to death on Wednesday.
Gauteng provincial police say an internal investigation is now underway, and steps will be taken against the officers.
