DURBAN - The last meeting of the eThekwini council for the year has ended in dramatic fashion.
The ANC stayed true to their word and tabled a motion of no confidence in deputy mayor Philani Mavundla, who's now been unseated.
But Mavundla refuses to go quietly.
He says he has an agreement with the ANC that's in place until 2026.
As such, he can't be removed from the executive committee.
Mavundla’s poor performance has been cited as the main reason for his removal.
