JOHANNESBURG - The eThekwini metro is beefing up security ahead of the festive season.
Along with extra SAPS members deployed to the city, the local metro police will also be aided by around 200 newly-trained recruits.

"With our case as metro police, we are having additional fully fledged members that will hit the streets in December," said Sbonelo Mchunu.
"We also have closed our academy and all our students will be on our shores to make sure that the city is safe and that our beaches are safe and we will ensure that there's a peaceful festive season."
