Eskom’s Acting CEO set to brief SA on company's operational performance

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom’s Acting CEO Calib Cassim is set to brief South Africans on the company’s operational performance.

Breakdowns have not been the only problem plaguing the country’s power supplier.

Eskom has been without a CEO since the resignation of Andre de Ruyter, 9 months ago.

It's a situation that's said to have caused tension between the Eskom board, and shareholder, Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.

The board says the minister is stalling the appointment of the CEO.

He is refuting the claim.
