JOHANNESBURG - NUM expects Eskom to come to the table and respond positively to their list of demands.
Wage negotiations kick off on Wednesday between the power utility and unions NUM, Numsa and Solidarity.
Among NUM's demands are a 15 percent wage hike, a R7,000 housing allowance and study benefits.
Olehile Kgware from the union says the ballooning cost of living has left them with no choice but to re-look workers' benefits.
Kgware has also come out in full support of the Electricity Minister on his handling of the country's electricity crisis.
