JOHANNESBURG - Rolling blackouts will be temporarily suspended on Sunday.
Unexpected recovery in generation capacity over the past 48 hours will see power cuts reduced to Stage 1 from 5am on Saturday.
This will increase to Stage 2 from 4pm.
But on Sunday, the power utility expects to suspend blackouts altogether between 5am and 4pm.
Eskom says this is due to lower-than-expected demand.
Alternating Stage 1 and 2 schedules are expected for most of next week.
