Eskom suspends services in Khayelitsha due to crime

WESTERN CAPE - The spread of crime in Khayelitsha has forced power utility Eskom to suspend its services in the area leaving over 500 households in the dark. 

This comes after an attack on staff who were doing maintenance work in the eNdlovini area on Sunday. 

While staff members managed to escape, Eskom says they were severely assaulted and their vehicle damaged. 

A case has since been opened with police.
