Eskom to implement Stage 6 blackouts from 8pm

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has ramped up power cuts to Stage 6 from 8pm.

Stage 6 will last until 5am on Sunday.

The power utility says Stage 6 might continue on Sunday night.

Eskom says the increased blackouts are needed to replenish emergency generation reserves.

South Africa has been experiencing rolling power cuts since the start of the year.
