JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has announced that power cuts will be suspended for the rest of Monday.
The power utility says this is due to lower-than-anticipated demand.
The suspension of the blackouts will go on until Tuesday at 4 pm.
Thereafter, Stage 2 will then be implemented.
The country has been experiencing lower Stages of power cuts in recent weeks, with Eskom announcing that three of its power stations have achieved up to 70% performance.
