EAST LONDON - There's more legal woes for the owners of the Enyobeni Tavern.

They are on trial for serving alcohol to minors after 21 young people died there last year.

Now, the municipality says they have contravened by-laws and their outlet may be demolished.

The owners say it's all just a publicity stunt.

Siyakhangela and Vuyokazi Ndevu left the court fuming after being served with court papers.

The angry couple says their address is known to the public and this was done initially to try and embarrass them.

Vuyokazi Ndevu said, "they are seeking media attention for the benefit of making us look bad."

Meanwhile former bouncer Thembisa Diko told the court she made a desperate plea to the accused Siyakhangela Ndevu to get more security as the Enyobeni Tavern was overcrowded.

She says only two bouncers operated on the day when 21 young people died and that Ndevu cared less about the ages of his customers.

An 18-year-old also gave evidence about how teenagers younger than drinking age were allowed inside Enyobeni Tavern.

The trial resumes on Thursday.
