Enqabeni residents go without clean water for three years

PIETERMARITZBURG - For three years, residents of Enqabeni in KwaZulu-Natal haven’t had clean water.

They rely on untreated water that they believe is making them sick.

Some people have to walk as far as five kilometres to fetch water from a small pipe.

The community worries that the water they’ve come to rely on in the absence of water tankers isn’t safe for consumption.

Msunduzi Mayor Mzimkhulu Thebolla says the municipality has set aside R8-million to address the situation.
