JOHANNESBURG - E-tolls will soon be a thing of the past in Gauteng.
Well, that’s according to Premier Panyaza Lesufi.
The formal process to switch off and delink e-tolls will begin on 31 March.
The Automobile Association spokesperson, Layton Beard, said motorists are anxious about e-tolls.
"The premier made the announcement and I think it's going to happen by 31 March. A little later than people would have liked, but certainly a good date and something we can hold the premier to," he said.
Beard said it's unlikely that motorists are going to be refunded.
"Obviously that may change, but indications at this point are unfortunately that people are not going to get back any of their funds again."
