VEREENIGING - Heavy rains across Gauteng have exposed service delivery weaknesses in the Emfuleni Municipality.
Residents are fed up with what they call a broken and dysfunctional metro that's failed to turn the corner since it was put under administration in 2018.
Locals say getting out of their homes has now become next to impossible.
Speaking to eNCA earlier this week, officials of this embattled municipality say they're trying their best to address the backlog.
"We are working on that. We are on the ground. Challenges are big and they are historic," said acting mayor Vincent Jones.
"It's not gonna take three months to resolve all the service delivery problems that you see in this area, but I can tell you something is being done."
Residents however are fast losing hope that they will ever get proper service delivery.
