Eight suspects in court for rape and robbery

DURBAN - Eight suspects aged between 19 and 39 are due to appear before the Durban magistrate's court.

They face charges relating to robbery and rape of 3 female security guards at the KwaZulu-Natal Transport Department.

Equipment worth over R280,000 was stolen from the department offices.

The suspects also allegedly held the security guards hostage and took turns raping them.

The suspects were identified, cornered and taken in for questioning.

They were positively identified during an identity parade.
