DURBAN - University of KwaZulu-Natal students have been protesting about accommodation and registration issues for weeks now.
Two Edgewood campus leaders are in police custody since the protest turned violent more than a week ago.
Students gathered on Monday morning, demanding that the university respond to issues faced by them.
According to them, over 600 students -- mainly first-years -- still have nowhere to stay.
The university says all accommodation under its control is full.
It's encouraged students to look for places in private residences.
University management also says it's currently engaging with student leaders on matters raised.
