JOHANNESBURG - The Enyobeni tragedy -- where 21 young people died -- is not deterring underage children from drinking.
The Eastern Cape Liquor Board says they are constantly receiving reports of the behaviour.
Now, it's worried of more tragedies as Pens Down parties loom to mark the end of mid-year exams.
It's calling for these gatherings to be banned.
Liquor Board warns against pens down parties"We became very very worried to realise that the Enyobeni incident was never a deterrent to our young people," said Msiya Mgweni.
"It was never a message to our young people, hence we are saying to them they must stop this behaviour.
"What we need to do is to start to mobilise everyone in society to start to play their role," he said.
"To say to our liquor traders, why do you sell alcohol to young people? But also to start to take very drastic actions against those that sell alcohol to underage persons, particularly our licensees."
