Eastern Cape Floods | Three missing after heavy rains

EASTERN CAPE - Three people are missing after heavy downpours washed away parts of the OR Tambo District in the Eastern Cape - causing severe damage to infrastructure.

An overnight landslide hit the area and a massive storm saw a house struck by lightning.

Port St. Johns Mayor Nomvuzo Mlombile Cingo says she is expecting disaster management teams to arrive in the next few hours.

The Gift of the Givers has also volunteered to help those affected by flash floods.

Local disaster teams have been working through the night to help those trapped by the heavy rains.
