Easter traffic | Thousands of cars stopped, checked on N1

POLOKWANE - Limpopo Transport MEC Florence Radzilani says she's concerned with the high number of pedestrians who have died on the provincial roads during the Easter long weekend.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation says over 70,000 vehicles were stopped and checked.

Close to 700 motorists have been arrested for various offences.

They include drunken driving, excessive speeding, producing false documentation, reckless driving, and overloading.
