DURBAN - KwaZulu-Natal premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube has launched the SMART Agriculture Project in KwaXimba in the eThekwini Municipality.
The project will ensure the implementation of smart technology in agriculture with a view to growing and developing the sector in rural areas and townships.
Dube-Ncube says the new technology will also improve the province's disaster response.
A weather warning was been issued for parts of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands on Sunday.
