PRETORIA - Millions of South Africans still do not have access to clean, piped water.

Those that do struggle with constant supply outages. To deal with the crisis, government is hosting the National Water and Sanitation Indaba.

Delegates discussed how to provide sustainable water and sanitation services. Supply problems have been blamed on ageing infrastructure, poor maintenance, and organised crime. Residents have also been blamed for overconsumption.

The Indaba takes place during both National Water and Human Rights months, a stark reminder that water is a basic right that not all have.
