JOHANNESBURG - Cost of living continues to crip households in South Africa.
This is according to Financial consultancy firm Debt Rescue who painted a bleak financial year ahead.
The firm said while any interest rate reduction would bring relief, the sluggish pace of rate cuts projected for 2025 will simply perpetuate the ongoing challenges that many households face.

Reserve Bank governor Lesetja Kganyago is expected to announce a cut to the repo rate on Thursday 30 January.
In September 2024 the South African Reserve Bank announced much-needed interest rate cuts.
This was a relief to many South Africans as this is the first interest rate cut in four years.
The MPC cut the repo rate by 25 basis points as predicted by many economists.
