CAPE TOWN - The Judicial Service Commission has been holding interviews to find a successor for John Hlophe as the Judge President of the Western Cape High Court.
Hlophe is now a politician who was himself nominated by his MK Party to serve on the commission.
Various parties approached the courts and right now Hlophe is barred from taking part in the interviews.
The JSC has been told of the deep divisions that Hlophe’s tenure left on the bench.
Alison Tilley from Judges Matter spoke to eNCA on this topic.
