JOHANNESBURG - The courts seem to have given the green light to the Basic Education Department to publish the 2024 matric results in newspapers next Monday.

The Gauteng High Court today struck off the roll the Information Regulator’s urgent application to stop the publication of matric results.
The Regulator still claims the publication violates the privacy law POPIA, even though the courts said a few years ago that results could be published but the names of matriculant should be replaced with their exam number.
Minister of Basic Education, Siviwe Gwarube discussed this with eNCA.
