WELLINGTON, WC - The latest study by Stellenbosch University has shown an alarming school dropout rate.
According to the study around 200,000 pupils out of a total of just over 800,000 who started high school in 2019 disappeared before reaching matric.

Reacting to this Professor Michael Le Cordeur from Stellenbosch University said this is a great concern.
He pointed out school safety, over crowding as well as poor school nutrition programmes as some of the contributing factors which lead pupils to drop out of school.
