DURBAN - In 2024, BRICS expanded to ten countries.

The new members were Iran, UAE, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Saudi Arabia.

The Rio Times describes the historic growth of Brics as a pivotal moment for global governance.

It says this highlights the bloc’s role as a representative of the Global South and its potential to drive a more inclusive global order.
