JOHANNESBURG - It’s back to court for five Diepsloot community members arrested for an alleged vigilante attack.
Earlier this month, residents allegedly took the law into their own hands and burnt seven people to death.
They claimed they were terrorising the community.
The accused face charges of murder, attempted murder, kidnapping and malicious damage to property.
Gauteng Police Commissioner Elias Mawela revealed that all the suspects have prior criminal records.
Diepsloot has been plagued by crime and residents have been protesting, demanding more police visibility.
