Diepsloot anti-crime protest leaders to appear in court

JOHANNESBURG - Three Diepsloot anti-crime protest leaders will appear in court on Monday morning.

They were arrested last Thursday and face charges of public violence.

It followed days of violence, heightened tensions and clashes over escalating crime.

Residents are demanding President Cyril Ramaphosa visit, but he has yet to set foot in the area.

Community leaders decided on Friday to halt engagements with authorities until the trio are released.
