JOHANNESBURG - The IFP's Velenkosi Hlabisa and not John Steenhuisen may be the face of the DA's Moonshot Pact.

It will all be decided at a two-day convention attended by at least seven parties on Wednesday.

Political analyst Lukhona Mnguni says some delegates are clear the country is not ready for a white president.

The founder of the Democracy Works Foundation will chair the meeting.

"There are telltale signs that the conversations are going to be robust. There are still points of disagreement in terms of how the DA is still positioning this as a DA initiative rather than a multiparty initiative," Mnguni said.

"All of those things cause tensions."
