JOHANNESBURG - The future of the Joburg Council hangs in the balance.
The DA is expected to go ahead with its motion to dissolve the council.
Should the party succeed, the metro would have to re-run by-elections in about 135 wards.
But the party will have to rely on other political parties to help push its motion through.
On Wednesday the ANC and its allies voted on a report which saw City Manager Floyd Brink reinstated.
The DA alleges due process was not followed for the reinstatement.
