DA heading to court over Expropriation Act

CAPE TOWN - The ANC and the DA, the two biggest parties in the government of national unity, have locked horns after President Cyril Ramaphosa signed the Expropriation Bill into law this week.

At a media briefing in Cape Town, DA leader John Steenhuisen made it clear that he would not accept being disrespected by the president, saying he and his party had learnt via social media about the signing.

Steenhuisen has written to the president formally declaring a dispute over the Expropriation and NHI acts, invoking Section 19 of the GNU’s statement of intent.
