DA Federal Congress | Party trusts electronic voting system

JOHANNESBURG - The DA has assured its 2,00 delegates its electronic voting system has integrity and is secure.

This as the party gears up for its national elective conference this weekend.

Incumbent John Steenhuisen is being challenged by former Joburg mayor Mpho Phalatse for the top post.

"We’ve been at pains to explain that when one votes on the opera vote system, while it may say for example Aviwe has voted, it does not indicate in any back office way or it can be hacked where one can see who voted for who," said DA Chief Whip Siviwe Gwarube.

"It’s incredibly important for us to look after the integrity of the process.”
