Crime in SA | Pastor Mboro bail application

JOHANNESBURG - After spending another weekend behind bars, self-proclaimed prophet Paseko ‘Mboro’ Motsoeneng is back at the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court to apply for bail.

Mboro, his son and his bodyguard were arrested last week after a viral video showed them brandishing weapons at teachers and community members at Matshidiso Primary School in Katlehong, southeast of Johannesburg.

They are facing charges including kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm and intimidation.

A defence lawyer in the case says the father of the allegedly kidnapped child has the right to his offspring, and the court has no grounds for keeping him in prison.
