Residents who live in hotspot areas such as Mariannhill are speaking out and sharing their fears.

As police urge communities to work with them to solve serious crimes, this is being met with skepticism.

One resident blames resistance on a lack of trust in the police.

A new police station is earmarked for Marianhill but without a firm deadline of when it will be operational, residents aren’t getting their hopes up.
