Crime in SA | Ekurhuleni metro police chief faces the chop

JOHANNESBURG - Ekurhuleni Metro Police Chief Isaac Mapiyeye is accused of falling foul of the law.

He's accused of sexual harassment and intimidation by a female EMPD employee.

No action has been taken yet, but the metro council is convening to discuss the steps to take.

The EFF is calling for his dismissal and for a report into the incident to be released.

The city says the outcomes of the meeting will be communicated once a resolution is adopted.

Mapiyeye, who has been in the position since 2020, is also accused of a cover up of an incident involving his deputy.
