Crime in SA | Death toll rises to 10 after arson attack

PIETERMARITZBURG - 10 people have been burnt to death at a house in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

Police say suspects armed with rifles stormed the house and asked about the whereabouts of the owner.

After realising he wasn't there, they allegedly instructed the victims to undress, doused them with a liquid and set them alight.

Police say eight died on the scene while two others died in hospital.

The motive for the murders is unknown but the police suspect it could be drug-related.

Police are pleading with the public to help with any information.
