JOHANNESBURG - The implications of illegal mining in South Africa seems to be even more serious than previously thought.
Illegal mining has been linked to money laundering, bribery, illicit financial flows, the trafficking of weapons and humans.

In the North West the SAPS and SANDF have been working together to block the supply of food and water to force illegal miners to resurface.
And more than 1000 have resurfaces nearly Stilfontein just this week.
