    JOHANNESBURG - Deputy Gauteng Police Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni says criminals are taking advantage of power cuts.

    He was speaking during Operation Shanela in Bekkersdal.

    Mthombeni says police are working with municipalities to be proactive during blackouts.

    "We can agree to say that load-shedding is affecting South Africans. As we know, we are on a specific level of the load-shedding," he said.
