Correctional Services rubbishes Thabo Bester's claims

JOHANNESBURG - The Department of Correctional Services has rubbished Thabo Bester’s claims of ill treatment in prison.

Bester made an emotional address in the Free State High Court last week, complaining of unfair treatment.

But the department has dismissed this as nothing more than a side show, and insist Bester is being treated in accordance with his status as a high risk prisoner.

The convicted murderer and rapist, along 8 other co-accused are facing a raft of charges, related to his elaborate escape from prison.
