HAMMARSDALE - An off-duty police officer is in critical condition after he allegedly shot his partner at a courthouse in Hammarsdale, Mpumalanga, before turning the gun on himself.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Initial reports indicate the couple had gone to court over a child maintenance dispute.
After the proceedings, the man allegedly shot the woman as they left the courthouse, then turned the firearm on himself.
He remains in critical condition in hospital.
