JOHANNESBURG - As schools re-open concerns continue to be raised over the safety of pupils on the country's roads.
In October at least seven pupils were killed in a head-on collision between a taxi carrying school children and a truck on the N2 highway in the Western Cape.

In July 13 pupils were killed in a scholar transport crash in Carletonville in Gauteng.
In KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), 45 buses have been removed from roads across the province after being found not roadworthy.
Authorities are now urging parents and operators to prioritise the safety of young commuters during the “back-to-school” period.
