JOHANNESBURG - On Friday, the Joburg City Council will have another go at electing a new Mayor.
On Tuesday, the meeting ended in a stalemate with parties not agreeing on which candidates to put forward.
The ANC and the EFF appear to be stuck to their agreement to nominate candidates from smaller parties.
But, quite a few councillors saying they should put forward former mayor, Dada Morero.
The DA is blaming the Patriotic Alliance for the collapse of coalition negotiations, by pushing its deputy president Kenny Kunene for the city's top job.
But the DA, which is fielding former mayor Mpho Phalatse, has rejected this move.
The party says it wants a stable government.
