JOHANNESBURG - City Power says it is struggling to keep up with maintenance as we experience higher stages of rolling blackouts.
The utility received over 2 000 call logs reporting power outages on Monday.

But, it was not able to attend to most of these calls due to heavy rains and flooded roads.
City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena says they have a winter plan to deal with this but the rolling blackouts don't make it easy.
He said: "The truth of the matter is that we are not able to keep up with the stages of load shedding. The higher stages of load shedding mean that we are obviously not able to provide electricity to the residents of the city of Johannesburg as we should and that means half the time we are not able to provide that electricity," he said.
