JOHANNESBURG - The City of Joburg is planning to clamp down on hijacked buildings.
Public Safety MMC Mgcini Tshwaku says this will continue even if there are court bids to stop it.

The MMC says he is prepared to go to jail to clean up the city.
"Better late than never, we have to start somewhere because they will stop you every time you have to take people out and take them to a shelter," he said.
Meanwhile, police raided an alleged hijacked building in Johannesburg.
Illegal power connections, shacks upon shacks and hidden bed-compartments were found.
The raid was part of law enforcement's Operation Shanela.
