City of Joburg | SAMWU welcomes reinstatement of 130 municipal workers

JOHANNESBURG - SAMWU is welcoming a court order to reinstate 130 Joburg municipal workers.

The city has vowed to comply with the ruling.

The workers were unlawfully given termination letters by the then-DA-led government.

In 2020, the city employed the staff members on fixed-term contracts.

Those contracts were later turned into permanent contracts.
