JOHANNESBURG - The City of Joburg says its newly-appointed acting chief operating officer, Helen Botes, is going nowhere.
This after municipal workers marched to council chambers to demand her removal.
The SA Municipal Workers Union says it’s ready to strike if Botes is not removed.
The Johannesburg Property Commission says it’s open to holding Botes accountable if Samwu brings evidence of her alleged corruption.
The City of Joburg says it’ll be taking action against workers who demonstrated against Botes.
It says they cannot just take to the streets neglecting their duty to provide services to residents.
