One death was reported in Free State and another in Mpumalanga.
As infections and deaths increase, President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the affected area today, where he apologised to the people for failing them.
He said one of the country’s biggest problems is our failure to maintain or service vital infrastructure. And said this problem was common across numerous fields and industries.

He said, "there must be a higher culture of maintenance."
"The culture of maintenance throughout our country is very low. We build installations, some of them the most beautiful but when we finish building these, we forget about them and forget about maintaining them, we just want to use them."
"The right approach and culture is that once you build a facility, you must from day one start maintaining it so it functions well."
