CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are investigating an incident of public violence involving rival taxi associations.
The Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association and the Cape Organisation for the Democratic Taxi Association have clashed over a route in Tokai that resulted in damage to vehicles.
No major injuries have been reported.

The incident follows a deal negotiated by the taxi task team on operating permits and impounding of vehicles.
The deal was reached after five months of talks on the back of a deadly strike last year.
Both associations have agreed to end the violence and share the same route.
