Cape Town residents plead for stronger crime-busting measures

CAPE TOWN - Police are claiming success with their strategy in areas of Cape Town under siege, from gangs.

They point to decreasing murder rates in the latest crime statistics saying this proves their anti-gang plans are bearing fruit.

Although communities within the Bishop Lavis policing precinct are pleading with authorities to improve safety measures in these areas.

There are 36 cases of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition were registered,
between October and December in 2025.
