CAPE TOWN - It's been a tough start to the week in the Western Cape.
Fierce winds, heavy rains and even fires have battered the province.
Overnight rains and more downpours are expected on Tuesday and have forced hundreds of schools to remain closed.
Colin Deiner from Western Cape Disaster Management said the Level 9 warning expired at midnight.
"In George, there's been a significant amount of rain, there has been some flooding," he said.
"There were no further reports of any fatalities or injuries."
